Healthy Baby

Nora had her two-week well baby visit to the pediatrician today - she's one healthy girl! She's gaining weight steadily now, up to 10 lbs 10 oz, so just over her birth weight (it's normal for babies to lose up to 10% of their birth weight at first, and then they usually gain it back by 2 weeks; Nora was down to a low of 9 lb 4 oz at 4 days old, then she started gaining again). The doctor thinks she's doing great--so do her Mama and Daddy--and everything looks fine. She was exhausted from her outing this morning!



Yesterday, for Nora's first Memorial Day, the family went to visit Nana and Babchi in Mattapoisett. Nora finally got to meet her Aunt Emily (we like to call her Auntie Em), who is home from college for the summer. We all walked down to the River Race to see the boats coming in. All the neighbors were excited to meet her, and thought she was adorable riding around in her sling. Good Times were had by all.

Happy one week birthday, Nora!

Aaron had to go back to work today, so Nora and I are flying solo for the first time. So far so good - we're even contemplating a trip to Target later! Aa took the camera to work with him, so no pictures from the last couple days, but here are a few more older ones to tide you over.

Welcome to the World!

Nora Jeanne Blachly Brassard arrived on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 11:46 pm. At birth she was 10 pounds 9 ounces, and 22.5 inches long, and absolutely adorable! Mama and Daddy and baby are all happy and healthy and recovering well, and enjoying the beginning of their lives together as a family.
