Who is skippy?

While we're waiting for our baby girl to be born (aka launched - mama is a boatbuilder, after all), we're calling her skippy in lieu of her actual name. We started out with "skippy" because early on, we didn't want to jinx anything, we didn't know if she was a girl or a boy, and we couldn't decide on any real names anyway. Now that we know she's a girl and we've narrowed down the list of names to the top 2-3, we still call her skippy - we don't want to jinx anything, and we want her to be the first one to hear her name in person after she's launched and we decide which it is. When we have another baby, though, that one's name will not be Jif, as suggested by one of skippy's great-uncles!

skippy is due May 7, 2006 - 6 weeks and 2 days from today. The doctors and midwives, though, think that she might arrive as much as two weeks early, because she's already a big girl! So long as she waits until she's done baking, coming a little early is just fine with her mama. I love being pregnant, but I can't wait to meet this baby!
