Maine pictures

We all had a lovely and relaxing vacation at Brightwater last week, despite the fact that most of the time that Nora and I were there solo it rained. (Or rather, it rained nearly every morning, and then cleared up just as Nora fell asleep for her long afternoon nap. Oh well.) We had a grand time anyway!

Relaxing at Popham Beach with Daddy.
Actually, sand doesn't taste all that great. Why didn't anyone tell me?
Nora loves digging in the sand, and was particularly enamoured of the area near the water's edge where you can dig a hole and it fills with water from underneath. Mama and Daddy don't have beach chairs, but Nora does!
Back home at the cabin, the papasan has been renamed the "Nora Nest." She loved to pile up a bunch of books in it, climb in, and read for a while.
Even better if you've got milk, too! This is my favorite picture from the week. You can see all the vacation essentials: scraped up nose because we're having too much fun to cut fingernails, mosquito bites all over her face, blueberry residue smeared all over her cheeks, crazy ragamuffin hair that hasn't seen a bath in a week, and two new bottom canine teeth!
Yay! Daddy came back for the second long weekend!!
Drama queen... Moon-toe! This is one of her yoga moves from the class we took last spring.
Baby in a basket!
Daddy getting all artistic with the camera...
One more farewell picture with Wally the Frog. Look how much Nora's grown up since last year!

We're all looking forward to our next trip to Brightwater for the Common Ground Fair in September, but of course it's nice to be home for now. Nora was so excited the evening we got home - she kept running around finding her toys and stuff, thrilled to be back amongst her familiar things. It was really cute!
